Lo Debar was an Old Testament (1) town in Gilead (2) that is mentioned four times in the Holy Bible (3); three times in 2 Samuel (4) and once in Amos (5).
Lo Debar was the home of Makir (6), a contemporary of King David (7). Makir was a noble man, having cared for Mephibosheth (8), the orphaned and lame son of Jonathan (9) and grandson of King Saul (10), until King David sent for him (2 Samuel 9:1-13).
2 Samuel 17:27-29 discloses to us that Makir also tended to King David when the latter fled when being pursued by Absalom (11).
Lo Debar is often believed to be the same location as Debir, a border of the Tribe of Gad (12) as mentioned in Joshua 13:26.
