Christian Churches
in Marion County, Florida!
All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the LORD.
Offered herein are some biblical (1) examples of disobedience to God (2). In some present day Christian churches, we hear sound teachings about God's enduring love (3) for us and His desire to forgive (4) us when we humbly submit ourselves to Him. But, it's also important for us to remember that we're called to proclaim the WHOLE Gospel (Acts 20:27), which includes some less palatable chapters and verses that aren't as appealing as others. Instead, they challenge us to answer the call to be His children.
In addition to loving us unconditionally, our Creator also has expectations from us while we walk out our faith journey here on Earth. Since He created us, the Author of Life is very well aware of our capabilities as well as every one of our shortcomings- way more than we ever will be. The Good News tells that the Lord our God is with us every step of the Way (Deuteronomy 31:6, Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 41:10, Matthew 28:20, Romans 8:38-39).
Although God forgives our sins completely when we ask Him to (Isaiah 1:18; 1 John 1:9), there still may be repercussions for our transgressions. No different than an earthly parent or guardian interacting with their children (Matthew 15:4, Ephesians 6:1), God has a loving and encouraging (5) side but also has expectations of us to be obedient (6). He possesses a wrath that is not to be tested or mocked (Galatians 6:7); the consequences for doing so may be swift and certain or they may be doled out to future generations. Rightfully so, we don't get to choose our punishment - or that of our children.
As you review the "Chart of Disobedience" below, you’ll be sure to see many biblical titans on the list, which shows us that nobody is safe from the traps and snares of the Evil One (7). Additional related Bible verses are offered below the chart.
